Several heads of nations congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on getting re-elected for a historic consecutive third term. India’s neighbours including Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Maldives were the first ones to extend wishes to PM Modi. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni was apparently the first G20 leader to congratulate PM Modi on his election victory. PM Modi-led BJP is poised to return to power with the support of NDA allies, but it fell short of getting a majority on its own.
