I’ve never heard of Cru. I’m sorry if my comment seems harsh, but I think the time for plain speaking has come. The people on the video you’re sharing, who have been speaking on behalf of Cru, sound like they just put down the latest edition of “Dictionary of 21st Century Corporatespeak”. Whatever happened to Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Very sad to see another bad example of what is passing for Christian ministry these days. Thanks, Jon. I always learn something from you.

I’m sorry, but I was not fired over a learning experience. I was fired because we tried to point out the Biblical issues with a mandatory training. He obviously does not take criticism. If you do, you are fired and called a critic. So many word salads, lies, and PR nonsense. This makes me more than sad.

Unfortunately Cru is just one example of well-known Christian ministries that are going off-the-rails. Fair to say Inter-Varsity is actually worse than Cru? Wycliffe Bible Translators. Young Life. We have a serious problem with Christian ministries taking their cues from worldly philosophies.

Shouldn’t a “posture” be one of humility?? I experienced Mr Gauthier as arrogant. He also said that Cru doesn’t respond to criticism publicly. However a couple of years ago when Josh McDowell made “racist remarks” they publicly shamed him, silenced him, reeducated him and made him apologize, publicly, for his “offense”. Josh McDowell is the last person I would ever accuse of being racist. He is a fact guy and evidently giving factual information is now racist. Where do we go from here??
