Queen Anne (1665-1714) was the last monarch of the Stuart dynasty, ruling Great Britain and Ireland following the 1707 Act of Union. Her reign saw the War of Spanish Succession and the establishment of the Treaty of Utrecht, which helped define European states' boundaries. Known for her political struggles with Parliament and numerous health issues, Anne's reign also witnessed the development of the two-party system. She died without surviving heirs, leading to the succession of the House of Hanover.
