Your words resonated with me when you said that we need to respect our individual curve patterns. This is something worth noticing and I appreciate your wisdom

Hi Christine! This channel has been a life saver - I love yoga and truly believe it can help me treat my scoliosis especially as I get older (and especially after having my son). I have a lower back curve to the right and thoracic rib rotation (right rib hump). Is there a document to help outline what yoga is best and how to adjust for this pattern?

Thank you Christine,
I have a set of diseases - scoliosis, osteoporosis and numerous degenerative changes, and I have always had stiffness in my body.
But I exercise and it's good.

I also feel I can twist and bend better in one direction than the other due to my S-curve so I have to always be mindful of that and not overdo the stretching into my curve (further stretching already over-stretched muscles). They ache and it just seems to feel better to stretch them but I now realize there is the problem of overstretching. And I had to do a lot of self-education to understand what strength and stability exercises are good/safe for me and my particular curve. It takes time and focus to work out correctly to make positive progress and avoid making things worse. I still struggle with sleeping because I find that I will sometimes move into positions that accentuate my lumbar curve which I do not want to do because it will make it worse. Would appreciate some suggestions for how to stay in healthier sleeping positions for scoliosis to prevent this. One woman I spoke to says she sleeps in her back brace to prevent that. I don't have a back brace but wonder if it would help my back stay better aligned during sleeping.
