What am I missing here? Every few weeks they have the same press conference and announce the same measures. It just keeps repeating. Don't they realize this?

Is the plan to fight crime by keeping criminals detained for one more day?

Sounds like the same old failed plan to me

I want the laws to change. Not just cameras....

None of these plans will work alone if we don't keep the offenders locked up. We need to change the bail reform. We also need to vote Hochel out.
Our mayor and governor think, us, the citizens of NY are idiots.

Most of these offenders have 10+ recent prior arrests, first time crime is rare in NYC. If democrats stopped being so soft on crime, and eliminated bail reforms for violent criminals crime would be reduced substantially from the start

They think cameras in subway cars will help. Are you kidding me? Stores have cameras and still crime happens.

NYS/NYC needs to stop the unconstitutional games and allow citizens to defend themselves.

Carry self defense. Protect yourselves.

I'm confused. So they didn't think of this plan before?

The NY criminal justice system is a rotating door. Vote Zeldin

Just let the residents protect themselves already! NY needs to be a stand your ground state!

They want to do everything in the book except actually prosecute criminals

Fire the district attorney for not doing his job, harsher punishments for repeat offenders, and more accessible concealed gun permits. This won’t make us “feel” safe, this will actually MAKE US SAFE. These clowns absolutely do not have any interest in helping the public and I’m sure the majority of your police force can agree on that.

They’re always…ALWAYS saying that there is going to be cops on the trains, but you never do.

It would be nice if we start releasing descriptions of the criminals instead of hiding obvious facts about them

None of this matters if they don't prosecute

I estimate there is a 100% chance this is going to be a disaster.

They are just trying to save Hochuls Job Vote Lee Zeldin

If the Democrats lose badly in NY in a couple of weeks, it will be solely because of their failure to respond to the surge in crime. It’s an indictment of Hochul’s dereliction of duty on this issue that it took aggressive campaigning from Zeldin and the GOP for her to even acknowledge and begin to address the problem.

In case any of you aren’t aware, criminal justice activists are now focused on dismantling the criminal justice system altogether wherever they can. Most of the people really driving this are former public defenders and they’re incredibly well organized and articulate. This is what is driving efforts such as the one to shut down Rikers without even having a replacement for it in place.

For the sake of our families and ourselves, we cannot allow these people to succeed. It took a lot of time and effort to bring crime down to historic lows in this city, and make it safe to walk the streets and ride the subway at all hours of the day. We cannot allow this city back to be taken back to the days when entire neighborhoods were practically off limits and when you had to watch your back all the time.
