finland has forgiven and the frongus man is free of his purgatory
god_gamer_sieg
I was there when it ended... the cut to a live scene to finish the last KM was amazing. The chat was going crazy for all the easter eggs he packed into his real Summer Car.
What a long strange trip it's been.

Finland forgives, Martin, but it never forgets.

I absolutely love when YouTubers go the extra mile and fully commit to the concept. Might be my favorite genre of anything
zeemdotexe
what I really appreciate is that he did a proper vacation in Finland with fishing some rally and overall being in a rural place and not just visit expensive bars in in Helsinki.

Congratulations! *The factory beckons Mart. Space must be explored.*

Mart: I am free! I can leave Finland!
Factorio: Free? More like, under new management.

UFO's, 4 kidnappings, multiple manslaughters an explosion, arson, love, a family and a baby in a lake was not what we had on our bingo cards for the end of this.... But only because we thought it would never end. 10/10 epic tale.

THE ENDING ACTUALLY DROPPED MY JAW. I thought the video had reached its peak with the insane editing and especially the montage. THEN IT CUT TO LIVE ACTION. I am absolutely blown away. This channel is some of the highest quality stuff I’ve seen in a long time, even compared to channels ten times the size. HE DID IT LADS. FINLAND IS FINALLY SATISFIED.
mildlymarvelous
I can't fucking believe he got an actual Datsun and went to THE Teimo store in real ass finland. I can't believe that commitment to one single bit from a stream years old by now led to this
crunglemcbungley
Finally! Now he can relax by playing Factorio for 48 hours straight!

For anyone wondering, the car in the end of the video is a 70s opel kadett c, produced up to 1979. Marvelous car. I have the exact same one myself.

No… it can’t be….. he has finally escaped Finland?!

It was exactly 6:07 AM PST on Monday, September 2nd, 2024 when he finished The Drive. We were able to ring in labor day free from the tyranny of the Satsuma.
Just in case you didn't know (since it wasn't mentioned in this video), the chat could donate to screw with the controls or spontaneously intoxicate him. That's what the text-to-speech voice saying "drinking" or "turning left", etc. was about. The last 20 km was basically max BAC the whole way.

That commitment to the bit at the very end. The 24-pack with one bottle opened, the dingus, the stops to do mundane bullshit; everything here is so good.
I'm m honestly still pretty new here. I had seen a couple of your videos, saw the short where you described how the distance came to be, and you mentioning subscribers made me go, "Well, good thing I can't contribute to that since I'm already- ...huh. I'm actually *not* subscribed. Well, uh..." * click * "There we go. Fixed that."
Do you or anyone from the community have a suggested playlist for binging? I have a lot of unpacking and cleaning to do this weekend, so I'd love to toss it on the TV while I do that

Fun lore fact: that explosion was so powerful, it launched Maxwell all the way from Finland to Switzerland, this is the canonical reason for Maxwell being in voices of the void.

Congratulations Mart, you have completed the tutorial. Now there's a dismantled, rusty '85 Honda Civic waiting in front of your house, ready to be assembled. You know what to do now.

The whole series uploaded on this channel (outside of the live VODs) is 1h 58m 32s
Basically a movie, keen to watch this fully again
synoxgames
The fact that Martin actually went to Finland for the final 60 klicks is more effort than I would've thought anyone would put into a funny engagement farm challenge.
tenacityxl
32:20 might be the coolest thing i've seen Mart do yet because it's so small and yet the hand animation entirely of stock images is so SMOOTH
