I have one of these in my wife’s ITX build and it gives surprisingly good performance. I got it for $50 right as prices started shooting up. Couldn’t be happier with it plus it’s so cute and small with the single fan. I have the evga version

The 6gb version of this card is one of the most cost effective gpus ever

Speaking of pricing coming down, stock is improving as well. I work at Best Buy and we got our first shipment of current gen graphics cards for store stock yesterday. By first I mean first ever, the only current gen cards we had ever gotten were for customer orders, and the only time they were available in store is when a customer canceled their order, or I canceled their order because I determined they were a reseller (corporate shut me down on that, though.) We had a debate on where to put them all, because it had been so long since we had more than 1 or 2 at a time that we had long since started using their lockup cage for other items.

I've had my 6gb version since release, being thrashed daily ever since. It's still a great card with a little overclock if your CPU is good enough to let it go full bore.

I got a 3GB 1060 a few years ago too. It was at the time when the 6GB 1060 was almost everywhere out of stock thanks to mining and if you could get your hands on one it was like 380€ or something. The 1060 3GB hat like 5 - 10% less performance but only cost 210€ back then.

Considering ive been playing less and less actual modern titles my 3GB 1060 is still serving me well and probably will for a little while more

Man the 1060 was and is such a beast, my mate still uses my old one and its plays everything he needs it to albeit with the compromises you so clearly displayed. Great video as always

My god, I remember back when you first bought this, and me and my Pentium laptop at the time were incredibly jealous. Now you have a 3070 and I have a 2080ti. Wow, how life changes, huh.

I'm still using a GTX 970 that performs on par with this card. It's nice to see that older cards are still able to handle modern games at decent settings, and perhaps even for a little longer with technology such as Nvidia's image scaling.

One thing I must confess though is that I miss those early days of the channel. You matched hardware that would actually get put together in a system.

My old(beloved) 1060 6GB I bought in 2017 for £180(them were the days) had exactly the same cooler on it as yours. I'm not surprised you're surprised the performance of your 3GB card because it's still about the same performance as a 1650. The memory limitations are mitigated by the 1060 having a x16 PCIe connector along with a 192 bit memory bus which 50 series cards STILL only dream of getting after all these years.

I love this card, still rocking it after 4 years or so. Granted the 6gb of vram would have been very nice but I have no regrets.

I had one for a few months, the HP OEM model. It was kind of loud and ran old games really well but lacked that extra 1gb of Vram to hang with modern stuff as I wanted to something to play Halo Infinite with. I had to sell it while I could get a decent amount out of it. The kid that bought just wanted to play Horizon 5 which it did well.

I managed to get one of these for about $100 at the end of 2019 just before prices started to creep up. It's served me quite decently. Thanks for the video!

The 10 series is so legendary. My son still uses a 1060 6gb and I just upgraded my 1080 (which was totally unnecessary)

Nice video! The 1060 3gb is mostly frowned upon but it still has the power of a normal 1060, even though you have to turn down textures, it can still last you a good number of years because the pascal architecture is that good.

I had the Asus dual fan 1060 3gb. It treated me well and was a fairly decent upgrade from the 750ti 2gb dell OEM card I had.
Thanks for covering this mate!

Until september 2021 i was playing with an i5 7600k and 1060 3gb and 16gigs of ram.
Built 5/6 years ago and still capable! A lot of value for a entry/mid range even back in 2016/17! P.S. Your contents are awesome and more importanlty easy to assimilate! Thanks for your work!
