Okay maybe not the most tornado region but I'm currently on vacation.. Also I recorded this video in a car lolol. What's everyone's thoughts on Twister? Was is better than the original?

I like how, as an Oklahoman himself, the director fought to have the film shot on location in Oklahoma instead of having Georgia as a stand-in. So glad he won out in the end.

Honestly I liked the insurance plot line due to the the current underlying issue of real estate developers buying out land after disasters from people. It's predatory due to the position the victims are in. You could actually see this issue happen last year after the big fires in Hawaii.

Fun fact: in the movie, when Tyler and Kate are at the rodeo and Tyler tells Kate about how he witnessed his first tornado. It was real. On another show and on an interview, he told the producer that when he was about 8 years old, he was driving with his aunt and a few of his cousins to his aunt's ranch. Eventually, he said that he saw a giant tornado headed towards Jarrell on the highway right in front of him. Glen Powell witnessed the infamous dead man walking tornado.

I got excited (and scared) when I heard/saw the tornado sirens. I thought, "Swegle will love this!"

I also loved it when Kate and her friends discussed hiding in the overpass and she said, "No! That's the WORST place to be during a tornado!" But they literally had no other choice.

Overall I liked it, I liked how down to earth it felt with the characters and story. I was surprised how much I liked the characters by the end of the movie.
Although what was javi thinking driving in front of the tornado with Kate who clearly has PTSD from the tornado at the start of the movie.

I loved how Kate's thing with dandelions was a shout-out to Bill in the first film. I like to imagine that she was his daughter or niece.

Twisters was such an amazing film the fact that put El Reno in it was awesome

I’m an extra during the rodeo chaos, I’m briefly seen behind Glenn when he is running. I’m in bright blue jeans and a brown shirt, and a white cowboy hat.
Such a fun experience to film, even when it was in December 😂

Yes! It was excellent! I don't understand why people were expecting a carbon copy of the original, that's impossible. This is its own thing with its own story line and it was absolutely fantastic! The small references to the original were fun and just enough to honor it. I'm also glad the characters weren't overly romanticized - their growing relationship didn't overpower the story. It definitely wasn't Bill and Joe and Mellissa love triangle like, "she didn't sign the papers?" 😂

I wouldn’t say the film was trying to say that Tyler had the “sixth sense” for storm chasing. There are scenes that explicitly show Tyler copying Kate’s movements/decisions, showing that he can’t “feel what the storm is thinking”. He’s essentially the male version of Jo, and Kate is the female version of Bill.

I consider this to be the official endorsement for seeing the movie

Someone should make a tornado horror movie where we follow someone who doesn't live in a safe area having to find shelter when a tornado is caught heading straight for their town, it'd be cool to see people surviving the tornado instead of chasing it.

What troubled me the most, with both movies really, was the way they made it look as though storm chasers compete against one another. They don't. They all work together to find the best vantage points and to keep each other out of danger. Was a little disappointed that they didn't pay homage to the TWISTEX team even though they made a point to have El Reno featured in the film.

Twisters was exactly what it promised - a movie about chasing tornados. It gave a great nod to Twister while keeping it fresh for newer audiences

Super glad we got the 4K release of Twister alongside this film! I absolutely love both of them! Just got the copy of Twister in 4k yesterday, and they tightened up the sounds, soundtrack, and that one explosion that Jonas’s car caused when it crashed into the ground, (thank God for that)

I did the "eye" shots for the new twisters. You might be the second person I have seen talking about it. Very fun sequence hahaha

I just came back from watching it in IMAX and I LOVED it. The nods to the original movie, El Reno. Just wow! And we actually had a tornado up here in Canada yesterday, puts you in the mood!

Reed Timmer has said that the taming a tornado concept from the movie is entirely possible

Loved Twisters! I particularly enjoyed the costume callbacks to the original movie, and yes, that one dude in the cap and sunglasses is a direct reference to Jonas. Has to be, all I saw was Jonas when he was on screen.
