"but they will just raise prices" - just cap their prices, these companies always safeguard their massive profits whilst the normal folk get charged for them to maintain their greed.

There are many (I am one of them) who's relatively normal but generally happy life has been upended and near destroyed through the pandemic. Meanwhile, the rich got richer, oligarchs are trying to hide assets and mp's are getting payrises. Had enough to be honest.

Stop the £2000 increase in mp’s salaries, it’s madness they get an increase in these hard times

I never thought I'd say this but keir Starmer is right these profits must be reduced to help the tax payer. If the government put a cap on profits oil and energy giants won't be able to increase prices to counter there cuts

Isn't it sad that end-user costs always go up instead of profit margins being affected.

£200 support for £1400++ oil or gas, is no where near the support needed. What’s the alternative to hydrocarbon fuelled heating systems?

Overnight the price of petrol jumps because the traders are worried about something. The petrol will have been bought at a hedged price the the petrol in the garage fuel tank is still the same as the day before.
