Who Makes The BEST T-Shirt (Zara, Gap, J.Crew, Top Man, BR)? | Alpha M Style Safari

In this video men's style, grooming, fitness and lifestyle expert, Aaron Marino of IAmAlphaM, AaronMarino, and Pete & Pedro is on a shopping safari! He's hunting for the perfect white tee shirt. Keep in mind Aaron is 5'6" and 152 pounds. Ratings below are between 1 (bad) - 10 (good).

The Review

1. GAP ($11) - small fits pretty well (8), not the softest fabric but it's good (5), quality (8), and OVERALL (7.5)

2. J.Crew ($18) - medium fits larger than he likes, fabric is soft, construction is similar to GAP, it's a nice shirt but nothing super special, and OVERALL (6)

3. Banana Republic ($15) - more stretch than the other two, it's thinner at the neck (in terms of the band), you can tell it's a premium shirt, and OVERALL (9 -9.5)

4. Zara ($18) - the medium is super stretchy and super tight, not comfortable for Alpha, fit (5), fabric (4), value is okay, and OVERALL (5.5)

5. Topman ($10) - medium is roomier with a regular cut, fit and length are good (4), quality is not good (3.5), price (9), and OVERALL (6)

Alpha, if you do more like this, you should do a comparison of pre-wash versus post-wash. You may buy a shirt and love the fit, or not like it so much because it is larger, but post-wash may change whether you like or dislike it. Just a suggestion. Looking forward to this series!

Banana Republic and Zara look best IMO. I'd like to suggest maybe have a poll in the 'i' icon (top right) to see which one the viewers dig as a part of the Safari series 🤔

You may want to do a section were you cut to a couple days after wearing and washing it to see how it holds up... Pls continue this series!!

Aaron bro, thank you if you read this comment, from the bottom of my heart I thank you, today after watching your interview videos in your page I followed everything I went to the dodge jeep ram dealer for a interview the man told me that in 40 years of doing the business that not one man has ever walked in a interview wearing a suit, I got me a good suit 2 button grey, I went with black shoes and belt with a blue shirt and pink tie yeah I know kinda bold but anyway he told me he doesn't hire people with no experience and he said since I was wearing a suit he said here a paper to take to the hospital for a drug test... 30 minutes after that drug test I received another call about a manager in training, and nailed it I went from nothing now facing 2 jobs and stressed a little bc not sure what to do but it's a good thing to feel that way, thanks Aaron thank you my man !!!! I've watched you for a very long time ever since you did videos at your house even before you ever did any of the makeover videos anyway thanks man, guys if you read this list in to me sometimes a suit can actually get you a job and I am living prof of it

I recommend Gap crew neck T-shirts. Great quality, great fit ( I use medium and I’m 5’9” tall ) reasonable price and many colors to choose from.

You should do more of these! I'm not always purchasing online and going to the mall is my best option to trying on clothing. My wife hates it when I can't find anything and it's getting harder to find the things I can like and feel comfortable wearing. We have a similar body shape and size as well, so I can easily base the size from you-as I've done so in the past. (only speaking for myself) If it grabbed my attention, I'm sure it has others. Great vid!

teaching mens fashion already did a video like this already and kind of has a series like this.

however here are a few suggestions for future safari videos:
-take a poll of what kinds of clothes they want to see
-take a poll of where they would like you to shop
-fitting pre and post wash (previously suggested by a top comment)
-side by side compiled visual comparison of each of the product
-visual text to detail your ratings on the aspects of the clothing. example fabric: 8 out of 10
-closing the video with rankings 1, 2 and 3

I bought a Banana Republic t-shirt after watching this, and it's one of the best I have ever owned; really soft, doesn't sweat too easily, and has a great fit
