Ocean Eyes in Kenya
Показать описание
Shortlisted for the CAS Trips CAS Project Challenge 2021.
Ocean Eyes aims to enable students to nurture a deep appreciation for nature and implement sustainable projects by taking Kenyan school students through a 3 phased program that teaches them about the importance of conserving the marine ecosystem, the impacts it has on their communities, and how it works. They then get a chance to interact with and restore the coral ecosystem as they plant their own coral garden in their local community. Lastly, we guide them to implement and design their own sustainable projects related to marine conservation. Through our project, the students are given the opportunity to give back to their own communities and come up with solutions that allow their communities and the environment to live in harmony. Our project works in partnership with Oceans Alive, a local organization that works on marine conservation-related projects. They provide us with expertise when it comes to coral gardening.
