In California, in order to take the defensive driving course option, you have to plead guilty to the offense. You still have to pay the fine of the conviction but you won’t get the point on your driving record or face an increase in your insurance premiums.

Done this. Had speeding 10+, no seatbelt, and illegal window tint. Talked to the prosecutor, pled guilty to speeding 4mph over and other tickets dropped. Took like 45 minutes.

Or better yet, plea no contest and pay the fine and not have what you might save doubles in taxes. And guess what, in many states there's no penalty on points. Also, points is a stupid system and has no meaning other than allowing a state to take your license because they feel like it.

You can also call in to confirm a date to contest it and then change that date because they'll give you the days that are best for the cop pick a day they didn't give you and tell him that's the only day you can do chances are the cop won't show up and you will get out free

Defensive driving courses do not help CDL holders even if the ticket was received in your private vehicle!!

Take a day off work... Speeding ticket is a couple hundred $$. A day of missed work is about $800 or so. And that's only to Pleed. You then have a follow-up second court date to contest it and another $800 or so missed. Cheaper to pay.

Apparently, in Manchester if you get caught speeding 3 miles over the limit, you can take an awareness course it cost about £100, but you don’t get any points on your license . 😡 with myself never had a speeding ticket in 41 years. If I don’t

Did this, the cop threatened to add stuff that he didn’t put in the ticket initially if I didn’t plead guilty.
This was within 1 year of me getting the ticket and apparently they can add infractions that they left out when they initially gave you the ticket (if they can prove it of course)
