China Slams ICC Over Duterte Arrest Warrant, Warns Against ‘Double Standards’

China’s foreign ministry announced that it was closely monitoring the situation after the Philippines arrested its former president, Rodrigo Duterte. The arrest, which came on a warrant issued by the International Criminal Court, marks a significant development in the ongoing ICC investigation into alleged crimes against humanity. During a regular press briefing, Chinese spokesperson Mao Ning addressed the situation, responding to questions about Duterte’s arrest. Duterte, a former mayor and prosecutor who served as president of the Philippines from 2016 to 2022, was taken into custody early on Tuesday. This marks the biggest step yet in the ICC’s investigation into Duterte’s controversial anti-drug crackdown, which led to thousands of deaths and widespread international condemnation. After his arrest, Duterte was sent to The Hague, where he is expected to arrive on the morning of March 12. At 79 years old, Duterte could become the first Asian former head of state to stand trial at the International Criminal Court

Dear ICC during the time of our former President Duterte our county minimize the Drug business to the lowest point including the crime rate. The drugs are rampant in the Philippines before Duterte assume office. The majority of the Philipppine people stand with our beloved President Duterte.

He was not detained, he arrived in Manila from Hong Kong and abducted by the Police with 7000 personnel deployed. He was not given a chance to face to Judicial courts of the Philippines. He was immediately brought to Villamor Airbase and forced to board the plane owned by Marcos.

There was a clear Violation of Article 59 of ICC on how to serve a warrant of arrest.

Please search Article 59 of Statute of Rome.

ICC you are concer so much about the addicts and druglords, what about the victims of the addicts and druglords, who will help them? And who will stop the spread of the drugs that ruin so many families and lives.Isn't that the leader of the country is responsible for stopping it? If the Pres.would not do something?who will be? Who will be responsible the millions of people who become addict because of the illicit drugs. If a country become a narco state, what is your solution for that ICC?

@ICC we know our country more than you know, those complaints were driven by political intentions and not by mere concern over the lives of Filipino people.
