How I Make FANART That Makes An Impact!

This video isn’t about what you should and shouldn’t do, it’s, more about an idea. You may have seen a recent trend of folks doing #sixfanarts from people’s suggestions, I did something a little different.

I like drawing fanart, usually it's easier for me to draw characters I already know rather than make something up and draw something that looks bad. Then again, I can get better if I don't draw more haha.

I'm trying to remember the last time I drew fanart. I would draw fan art all the time when I was younger, but now I just kinda draw things from books or games because I'm making a comic for those. Which is okay, because fan art helps you improve, but it also puts that work mindset on it, so you kinda forget it's something fun. I've been really struggling with making art for fun lately and I think I should draw more fanart of the things I love.

I both like doing Fanart and drawings of my original characters😁 It would be great to see some kind of reaction from the makers of the series/movie but that rarely happens... But I do Fanart of characters that I want to draw only because I like them and their respective series or movie :3

I recently participated to a secret santa quarantine event on discord, were participants sent their characters and then they get randomly prompted other's people charters
I had to do 3 but I found it was very nice way to improve the way I draw, like body proportions and colouring, so I ended up doing 10 bonus gifts in 3 weeks, with some more on the way
I before this event I had the habit to imitate the ref art style, but this event helped me on having a more of a personal style, NOTHING MAJOR, i've still A LOT to learn, but it gave me a real sense of improvement

I made fanart of a online comic and actually got the author to comment on my work. I mean, he does seem to do that and cares about his fans, so it should not be a shock. But it really made me feel better about my work especially as it was my first all digital work. Once my work opens back up, I'll have to sub his patron for a few months.

Okay so,
I have a deep fear of anime characters fanart, but I do hope this thing helps me.

Not as in, to overcome my fear,
BUT TO BREAK THE BARRIER WITH A WHOLE EXPLOSION.

Actually, I renembered that there were two fanarts that the artists saw and liked it. One is Kasey Golden, a famous youtuber artist, and Simon Longnight, who played Thomas Jefferson and Lafayette in Hamilton Los Angeles.

This is a great thing to promote. I totally agree that supporting smaller creators and showing how much you appreciate them/their characters by creating fanart is much more meaningful than making fanart of some multi-millionaire company (altho thats still cute)
