i had so much fun
i discovered new music that shaped me into what i am now!
i was... a kid!

everything just went by so quickly that it sometimes feel like it's hard to catch a breath but at least we made it now! happy 2023 everyone!

2020 summer is so nostalgic because at that time we were all newly locked up on our homes and we were finding ourselves and some good ass songs

It feels like it was yesterday, a friday morning I woke up to have online classes and most people were sleeping on the meeting... I would put on these songs and drawn or talk with my friends by the cellphone. Pandemic had lots of bad moments, but I find it cool how much I grew up... What a nostalgy

I remember listening to this playlist in 2020 with schoolwork left undone on my desk ( life was so sweet *cries*) and scrolling on my phone, consuming all kinds of media and the sun felt so bright and warm back then.

This makes me realize how grateful I am for the 2020 and 2021 summers. Staying up late playing Minecraft or joking around on call with friends, spending time in the backyard, drawing, making animatics, dancing in my room, watching Technoblade…
I didn’t appreciate that time then. I didn’t realize what a great time I was actually having most of the time. I wish I had. I miss it a lot now. Sometimes I get overwhelmed with the nostalgia.

But then, if I continue to try to recreate that time, I’ll miss out on the fun I can have now. If I do, it’ll begin an endless cycle of nostalgia. I’ll always be stuck in the past, trying to get back that *one* moment feeling of absolute peace and happiness.
I need to learn to appreciate the present moment, and accept change..

summer 2020 feels warm and comfortable now that I look back at it. The start of me and my online friends, my first drawing commission, twitch livestreams, trying out every single filter on instagram..

Backyard Boy is a special song for me. My best friend promised me that when we were older, he would buy a truck, and take our entire friend group on a road trip to Disneyland. I remember imagining all of us driving through the country, window down with that song blasting. I remember feeling so happy and excited.

That was back in 2020, nearly 3 years ago. that dream kept me going, it gave me hope for a better, happier future.

And although I've lost touch with all my old friends, those memories and fantasies are bittersweet, because I know it'll never happen.
