People who actually know or are aware of what it's like to sing in loud places should not even be surprised by his answer because it happens quite often to artists. If you see an artist take their earpieces out, they're probably trying to hear the music and/or their own voice better.

It was a decent performance. Everyone just jumped on the hate train. As a singer myself I can attest that arena singing is very difficult if you can't hear yourself properly because everything else is so loud.
