When I purchased a 2016 Acura RDX, the dealership wanted me to get GAP insurance through them. I told them "No". They swore that I wouldn't get it cheaper anywhere else--even through my insurance company. I still told them "No." After I signed all of the paperwork and got home, I called my insurance company to give them all the pertinent info about the car I just purchased and their rate was much lower than what the "stealership" wanted me to pay. So it does pay to check around and not always take what the dealership wants or gives you.

I just bought a Hellcat Challenger I took my time and waited them out on a specific one they dropped the price 3 times the day I bought it I dropped another 1k I traded my other Challenger in I had 10j in equity and my own financing then they try to sell you all the Xtra stuff no just the car

Great video as always!! Some really good information although I'm not a fan of Gap insurance and don't think that it should ever be necessary if you do your homework and properly purchase a car with the advice from this channel.

Back when I bought my first car in 1989 I don't remember Gap insurance even being a thing. Times have really changed and the car dealerships have really stepped up their game on trying to squeeze as much money out of the customer as possible.

I never traded in a car that I owe money on and my trade in has been my down payment. Gap insurance is for those that finance more for a car than it is worth

Gap insurance worked against my lease. Ended up losing out on 3k of the 5k extra payout
