BMW Concept Active Tourer Outdoor, 10.09.13. Frankfurt

BMW is displaying the 2013 Concept Active Tourer Outdoor at Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany.
It's a follow-up to last year's concept and could indicate what we should expect from the 1-Series GT which will allegedly be offered with five- and seven-seat configurations. The concept measures 4350mm in length, 1833mm in width and 1576mm in height, with a 2670mm wheelbase and 20-inch alloy wheels.
The powertrain is a plug-in hybrid arrangement encompassing a 1.5-liter gasoline engine sending power to the front wheels and working together with an electric motor which enables the concept to have a 190 HP (140 kW) combined output and a fuel consumption of just 2.5 liters / 100 km (94 mpg US or 113 mpg UK). It can be used as an EV for up to 19 miles (30 km) and will need 8 seconds to reach 62 mph (100 km/h) when used as a hybrid before topping out at 125 mph (200 km/h).
The 2013 BMW Concept Active Tourer Outdoor has an attractive orange paint and comes fitted with a two-bicycle carrier which can be stored into the car's side structure or the load compartment floor to free up space. The cabin features an eight-inch screen showing relevant details about hybrid system status, navigation and ConnectedDrive services.
BMW will probably unveil the 1-Series GT next March at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
