My Weim, passed away on January 4th, 2024. She was 16. She was the best Weim in the whole Weim world. I’m so fucking sad. She made me smile everyday and losing her feels like losing a piece of my soul. I talked to her all the time and now I don’t have that and it’s a very cold reminder of how important it is to enjoy EVERY fucking day with the ones you love. RIP Weim dog. 😢

My weim is 13. Had him since he was 3, and still jumping on the kitchen counter for a scrap. Smarter than most humans. Love him more more than anything.❤❤❤

My grandfather raised them. As a 5 year child our dog was “ blue” . A neighbor boy pushed me down and the dog with his soft retriever mouth took him by the wrist and delivered him to my mother. She asked “ what did you do?” The kid responded “ I didn’t do anything. The dog is lying”. She laughed “ dogs don’t lie” …he confessed and apologized. They are that smart and loyal.

I had an amazing Weimaraner, great hunting dog, fantastic family dog. He would sit my by side while I read the Newspaper. Then after say 15 minutes, he would take a "walk outside". If something was "amiss" he'd come back and hit my knee with his head and walk back to the door. If I didn't follow, he would come back and hit me harder and walk part way to the door. I'd get up and follow him - he'd lead me out the garden path and the 3 and 5 year old boys would be out on the street! I'd call the boys in, pat the dog on the head and go back to my chair. 15 minutes later, he'd do the rounds again. Every time I went away with the Army, he'd take over the house, look after everyone and like me to death when I came back. He died of cancer and it took me decades to get another dog. But now I have a Viszla and he is an amazing dog too. He has been so easy to train, I'm not actually aware of training him, he's just picked the commands up instinctively - like he anticipates. He's just turning 3 but going a long way in filling the hole in my life.

I've been wanting one of these dogs for 30 years, just never been in a position to buy one and give it everything it needs. They are beautiful.

When my Weimaraner was younger, he was devilishly smart. We had a dog gate made out of wood so he wouldn’t come in the kitchen, he slowly whittled away at it each night until one dinner he came storming in!

Another time, he barked at something outside to get me to look at it! Turns out, he was just trying to get me away from my plate to try and get it himself!

He’s better in his old age if not the most disciplined, I know he’s happy how things are and wouldn’t change a thing!

I have a female Weim that I rescued four years ago. She will turn eleven this year (2023). She loves to sit next to me and put her head in my lap. She is the only dog I know of that makes continual sounds of contentment, kind of like how cats purr. Some people think she growls at them, but I assure them she is signaling contentment. I absolutely adore her.🥰🥰🥰🥰

Mine is 2 years old. We run 6 miles per day. After that, she falls asleep just to start playing again, they have endless energy.

I checked my Weimaraner. He has horns but he hides them beneath his halo.

I agree that Weimaraner is the best overall breed for a companion, a hunting dog or an athletic pet. Mine is a service dog, imagine that!

Our weimeraner is nearly 14 years old and still going strong. One of the best dogs I've ever had and he's extremely intelligent.

My Weimaraner named Aurora lived to 16 years, 5 months and 4 days.. She was the best thing in my life.. Dogs are almost the perfect animals but their lifespan is wayyy too short..😢

If your Weim has separation anxiety when you leave the house, all you need to do is leave your television or radio on. For most breeds with this issue, that will take care of it.

I think these are truly the smartest dogs... The accepted scale takes into account the willingness to follow commands.... Well these dogs HAVE MINDS OF THEIR OWN. One of the Weims I had simply chose to not listen to some people while she always followed my commands flawlessly. These dogs are smart enough to know who is worth their time and attention. They are not the easiest to train because they are frankly so darn smart. But once they see your value to them they form the strongest bond with you are the best dog you can have. They are true SuperDogs - if I were stranded somewhere out of all the dog breeds I've had this the breed I would to be stranded in the middle of nowhere with - a properly trained Weim will insure that you are safe and not go hungry as the best all around hunting dog. When properly trained they are the only "bird dog" with a true "off switch".

Our Weim could open any door in the house including the refrigerator door. When he was at the vet hospital recovering from an accident, another weimaraner story, he opened the door of his large cage and went in to visit with the vets and the vet techs. They weren't surprised that he could do that.

Missing fact is the infamous “derp”, it’s a quirk where their upper jowls/lips get tucked into mouth exposing their bottom teeth which makes them look ridiculous. Weims are the most beautiful dogs! They are so elegant, regal and goofy all at the same time! 😂

Last dog was a Weimie. Extremely smart. Had a vocab of 100 or so words. Knew all her toys by name. Now we have a Vizsla. Very smart, but not as much as the Weimie. But extremely fast. Luv them both to death
