Isn't treponema pallidum a spirochete?

As far as I googled, spirillum is more like a genus, than a name for shape classification. The actual classification term would be "Spiral bacteria". And by the way, if you accept this fact, then treponema pallidum should be classified as a member of the genus treponema (familly Spirochaetaceae), not spirillum (familly Spirillaceae).
