Swallow Falls Beater (Entry #7 Beaters For All 2023)

"My first time running Swallow Falls at high water, and I didn't make the move to the left or the right of the V-Hole at the bottom with enough power to punch through it. Spent the first decent portion of time underwater stuck in the hole in a sort of sideways beatdown where I tried several rolls and hardly even got my head out of the water. After the 2nd failed roll attempt, I felt myself wash out and after waiting a minute tried a third attempt which failed due to me rushing it and picking up my head too early. Finally got the boat back upright on the 4th attempt, where I promptly rammed the bow into a rock in the outflow that you don't even come near at lower water levels which spun my cockpit upstream and flipped me again. Luckily managed to hit the last roll attempt because by that point I was really tired and had swallowed a fair bit of water. Luckily I was with a group of four and safety was set up appropriately if anything had gone wrong! Good times on the Top Yough!"

This is the paddler from this video. Just cause i have already had a few people ask me this, i was NOT alone for this run. I had a crew of 4, two of them were right behind me who were waiting for the all clear signal to run it, and you can see the third paddler with saftey set on the right at the 58 second mark. Just wanted to clear that up since i can see how someone watching this could think i was running this solo since you don't really see the other paddlers in my crew. It would be pretty foolish to submit a solo paddling video to Kayak Session, who literally end every video with a warning saying to never paddle alone 😂
