Yelp called me the other day, and told me about their "no contract" offer. i ended up clicking the $15/day option. They told me the most i would be charged was $15/day, and that it was based on actual clicks and that i could turn it off and on anytime. i just checked and after only 6 days, they have me already at $160 i'm going to owe, and the only clicks are from me. I canceled, but i guess i'm gonna be out the $160. Yelp and all these companies are scabs, we need to get rid of them.

Yelp keep on calling me for advertisement, I told them my business too busy to handle more. Now Yelp remove most of my business reviews only leave a few. Yelp to me look like an extortion company or a company full of criminal.

Hi, may I use portions of this video for my Instagram account I am creating for anti Yelp and awareness? I agree with everything you say and businesses need to take a stand against Yelp.

Dude, thank you for this video. It definitely saves me a lot of money...

They are incredibly pushy. They keep calling even though we told them no. Once on the phone the prompt you to go to the sales page and click next to get you locked in. I decided to look into it further and this video is what I needed to tell them to go away. Thanks man!

We do need to start a class action lawsuit against Yelp. I am totally for it. Hopefully, a law firm will take an interest.

Thanks for posting this video. Great illustration on how they run this scam. Just signed my roofing company up on Yelp yesterday and started receiving calls first thing this morning.

TOTALLY TRUE!!! I AM A BUSINESS OWNER AND I AM SUFFERING WITH YELP SCAMS BIG TIME. I AM REALLY UPSET WITH THEM AND ITS A TOTAL SCAM. ONCE I STOPPED ADS WITH THEM AS THEY WERE CHARGING ME TOO HIGH THEY STARTED TAKING THEIR REVENGE ON ME BY HIDING ALL THE REVIEWS FROM MY MOST GENUINE CUSTOMERS. I WANT TO START A LAWSUIT ON THOSE IRRESPECTFUL FELLOWS WHO ARE JUST SCAMMERS AND NO ONE KNOWS THEY ARE.

They charged me $800+ for three months and nothing in return. Complete scam

Great video! We are working with a client on Facebook, SEO and Google Reviews. She was "tricked" into a 12 month contract with Yelp and she said she would have to pay huge fees if she tries to break the contract. We track clicks to her website and use call tracking software, no calls from Yelp leads.

There should be a class action group against these people. Insane that they are getting away with this.

I ended up posting all the 5 star reviews that they filtered from my page as pictures so that future prospects can see our reviews.

I highly recommend filing complaints with the Federal Trade Commission, BBB(San Francisco Headquarters), & the Attorney General. When I called F.T.C. The officer gave me the websites to the latter 2 agencies. Yelp gave me the exact same spill with 0 results. They even claimed I had 5 phone calls through them. When? Where did those nonexistent numbers go? I signed nothing nor did I give them authorization to charge my card. They didn't even so much as present me with a bill or statement for services rendered. How could they. There isn't one.

A few years back we got a call from yelp at the restaurant I was managing. They basically said we had some negative reviews and if we wanted those reviews removed then we needed to pay them x amount of dollars. Essentially what they were doing was if someone left a positive review, and you weren't on contract with them, then those reviews would only stay for a short period of time, but if someone left you a negative review they would leave it up forever. The only way to have it removed was to pay them. Positive reviews disappear but negative reviews stay up forever unless you pay. That's extortion. Yelp is a scam and I hate the fact people think it's a legitimate review website.

I have used other services that offered discount subscriptions and then find out later that it was a 12month contract. I canceled and was still obligated to pay for 12 months.

Thank you so much for sharing this information. I’ve only recently joined yelp, and since then I’ve lost track of how many times they have called to get me to start paying for ads. I explained to them multiple times that I’m not ready to start paying for ads but I will consider it in the near future based on all they have told me. Two of my clients logged into yelp and provided me a 5 star review. After my last call with a yelp customer rep, they tried every trick in the book to get me to provide them my credit card and of course I reiterated the fact that I’m not quite ready, a few days later I checked my yelp listing/account only to realize that yelp removed my 2 reviews. It seems like yelp is indeed a company built on scamming people. They even created their own criteria to determine if your reviews should be shown. Imagine a company that does not want real customers to post their honest reviews because yelp wants to maintain the power to hold that against you only to make you pay them for their ads. This is the first company I have ever seen to be so bold in wanting to control honest reviews that would benefit actual businesses, if it doesn’t benefit theirs. My honest assessment is that yelp is just a big scam. I am so happy I did not give them my credit card, especially now that I’m reading of so many people online who have had really bad experiences with them. Just my thought, I don’t think yelp is worth the frustration.

Great video! I had the same experience with yelp brother. Never authorized any contract and they kept charging me. I called Wells Fargo to do a charge back and only received 70% back. How does Yelp get away with this type of fraud and not have class action lawsuits on the daily?

We use yelp, but we don’t pay a penny. We don’t advertise with them, but we have 10 minute response rate so we are a top rated roofing contractor in NC. I don’t see a point with advertising with them since we are #1 contractor on there page..

Yes i totally agree .
They filtered 30 good reviews with in 3 weeks, because i refuse to pay for advertising.
Google its much cheaper if its comes for advertise. One click on Yelp cost $22 to $25 .
I was thinking some how to advertise my Filtered reviews because there more 5 stars reviews in my filtered box then on the front page.
