Fireflies are memorable insects that light up our summers. They're actually not flies or true bugs, but beetles! There are over 2,000 species of fireflies worldwide, with over 40 species just here in Ohio. But what can you do to support them in your outdoor space? Follow the LAMP guidelines: Lights Out, Avoid Pesticides, Mind your Mowing, and Plant Native.

I saw *A* *Firefly* one time when I was a kid and that was the last time.

I live in California and I'll do anything to help because I don't want to live in a world without fireflies.

I love fireflies so much, I see them in my yard every year and I always try to make sure they have a habitat to live in. I want to make sure my nephew grows up knowing what they are and can see them in person

I'm from suburban Philly and always enjoyed seeing the lightning bugs in June/July. In recent years they have been in marked decline. This year, so far, they have been totally absent. It's eerie.
