Wikipedia: Unchained Melody is a song written by Alex North (music) and Hy Zaret (lyrics), and it was first released in 1955 as the soundtrack and theme song for the film Unchained, hence the name. The film is about an inmate in a prison who is in the dilemma of whether he should escape or serve out his sentence so that he can be reunited with his loved one.

And...her grandma is an iranian woman!

It should not go unnoticed that the twins Ali and Kiani Rahmani had only a few minutes earlier been talking about their mother whom they haven't seen since they were 8 years old. Now they are 17 as Angelina is. Kiani also tells us that she doesn't think she ever will see her mother again.

When Angelina sings, what I hear is: "I've hungered for your touch" and "I need your love".

What a way to honor Narges Mohammadi, even though it may be YEARS before she will be able to hear this performance or watch the whole ceremony. Beautiful as always to see one glimpse of a bare foot 🙂. And what a beautiful combination of her as-usual stunning - and subtly different than in previous renditions - vocals with this wonderful orchestral arrangement.

Such a great honor for Angelina to join other Iranian artists to recognize Narges Mohammadi for all her efforts for women's rights in her native Iran. The world should join in a loud chorus for Narges to be released from prison immediately, so she can end her hunger strike. She was a great choice for this years' Nobel Peace Prize.
