Quick update since there are a lot of comments about the autofocus.  

I will not keep using the continuous autofocus. Its better then it used to be, but if you need a camera with rock solid autofocus I continue to not recommend the GH5.  

It has PLENTY of ways around needing continuous autofocus but if you have to have it I recommend something like the 90d or a6400.

so i did the update and....well it seems better it really isn't something I could ever really use. it still hunts and still takes its time to react and that's with high sensitivity. I know why Panasonic isn't using phase detection. I wish they could. If the S1H had PDAF I would snap it up. Sadly my GH5 still won't be used much, I was hoping for much more after watching your video. Oh well...back to my A7Riv and GFX100 ;)

Love that you covered how good it is as a stills camera. So many people disregard MFT for stills, yet it’s what I shoot on primarily (100% of the time before the S Series). You’d be shocked at how many times I hear things like “when did you start shooting full frame?” in response to my MFT travel photos. It’s all about the lens, baby! Great video. And congratulations on your about-to-hit 100, 000 subs!!

Really good video. This is really informative and passionate, and as a video creator myself, I am now considering getting a GH5. In late 2019, do you think this is a good buy or is there a new Panasonic camera out there that I can get that offers this much bang for the buck for video creators? Congrats on 100k!

Great Video! For me the perfect camera is the G9 with the latest update. If you don't need the higher frame rates, pro video features and unlimited recording the G9 has even better Ibis, more buttons, probably better AF and some more features for photography.

Auto focus issues aside, I thought this was one of your best, most enjoyable videos to watch. You obviously believe in the camera, have history with it, and let that enthusiasm show. Too often reviews encourage people to purchase the latest technology, which isn’t always in the best interest of creativity. Thanks for getting away from the novelty of “new” and showing some love for a tried and true camera. Thumbs up!👍🏻

Perfect video. Thanks. I use a G85 but I'm gonna get a GH5 after Corona. Higher bit rates and better picture quality. But I'll get it second-hand because I think GH6 will be announced this year.
