My favorite Bruce/Clark friendship moments in animation is from the JLU episode Dark Heart when Bat's plane is destroyed and he bails out, updating the team on his findings over radio during free fall and about a hundred feet from the ground he mentions he's about to die to Supes and he swoops in and graps him and Bruce just keeps talking like nothing happened. Absolute, 100% confidence that Clark would be there for him.

I’ve grown to hate Superman as a character so much, but it’s always these kind of clips that make me respect him again. When Superman backs up and shows his humanity and stands for everything he used to symbolize, it does a lot for his character. Unfortunately I feel like Batman is the only person capable of pulling that worth out of him now. We’re letting what superheroes meant die. They’re rarely role models and beacons of hope anymore. As much as I love the dark and gritty, I miss them standing for something.
