The merging of OnePlus and Oppo must be the reason why Carl Pei left OnePlus. Oppo is the one dying before BBK appointed Pete Lau to help them.

It's the best phone for our moms. Works fast no matter in how messed up way she uses it. She can install a truck load of apps and arcade games and still the phone won't lag. Speakers are enough for their TV shows, cameras they won't know it's bad 😆

I'm testing one myself and have to agree the competition is doing better for the same or even less money. However nobody mentioned about the 16mp selfie camera which is amazing as is the same Sony sensor IMX741 ƒ/2.45 as you can find on OnePlus 9 pro.

Everyone suggests Xiaomi over this, but the main factor is software. MIUI is awful. It kinda works, but it is always buggy, kills notifications sometimes and updates in my experience have been pretty sparce even those were mostly just security updates. Does anyone have any alternatives that aren't MIUI or similar ROMs? Preferably close to stock.

I don't know why ppl making a fuss about it. I'll admit it's a bit over pricy but the rest is quite good. The camera is okay. The software is top notch compared to the bloatwares on the other garbages. It gets a great charging and battery life. The display has 90hz. And getting better storage options. The performance is enough. What else is pple looking for? I just think pple who doesn't get to buy this was just making fun of it to get a relaxation 😂

Thank you for your review but you forgot one important thing...
This phone is a world champion in killing important apps and processes.
Idk why you or other reviewers never mention this.
The phone kills processes as soon as you lock the screen and in many scenarios this is a huge problem. Like with apps like Runkeeper or Family locator apps.
OnePlus should be ashamed of themselves.
Nokia phones had this very problem a couple of years ago but after a lot of criticism they fixed it.

this phone doesn't compete with other midrangers from xiaomi, realme, poco ect. it's quite expensive in my opinion.

The screen sucks. 600 nits, no Gorilla Glass, 90 Hz... Samsung has a better deal, with better speakers and camera and water resistance as well.

I want to put kali nethunter in a android phone which one should i buy, thinking of buying this coz oneplus phone bands work in US as i am plying to move there next year and offensive security said in 2019 that oneplus 7 is their official phone thats why going for oneplus. Compared to Xiaomi offerings like the Poco and redmi this seems like garage tbh
