This is Real! Do you know the Biggest civilian Airlift in entire history of Aviation is in the name of Air India? This was during the time of Kuwait Invasion. Imagine 59 days, 488 flights and more than 1 lakh people to evacuate. Truly gigantic effort! Hope this movie is about this! I had spoken to people who were in Kuwait during this period. They said Iraqis were nicer to Indians. They sang old Hindi songs, shared food etc. All because Indian government's relations with Iraq & Saddam. So it would be wrong to demonize Iraqis. But evacuation was a marvelous effort considering the fact that the communication facilities were not evolved this much during this period.

Two minutes silence for all those people who think it is inspired from the 2012 flick, Argo
Mates Argo was about evacuating just 6 American people out of Iraq and this is about 170, 000 Indians there is an enormous gap between the two figures....
Nonetheless the teaser was great and i expect this film to be one of the best of 2016...

Airlift a movie every Indian who was in Kuwait during the Gulf War would relate to....Had tears when Akshay explained what the movie was about....Took me right back to the moment when the war broke out....Ijust realised I've come a long way!!

People today might crib and complain about Air India and their frequent delays, but very few know that when thousands of Indians were stuck in Kuwait during the Gulf war, the Indian government executed the world’s largest air evacuation mission ever. This operation continued for almost sixty days and managed to AIRLIFT (Yes, that's how the film got its name) over 1, 70, 000 Indians. Thanks to Air India n the efforts of the then shri Narasimha Rao for this great work
