This one does look interesting. Turns the iPad mini into a netbook. I haven't yet been convinced that I need a touchpad for my iPad though. So I agree with you about wanting a bigger keyboard l instead

I can't be sure if there was some firmware update to this astounding keyboard/case combo for the Mini 6, but I have to say the touchpad functionality is pretty amazing. The previous comments have noted that the pointer isn't accurate and has some other issues - this has not been my experience so perhaps they were addressed with upgraded firmware. I'm pretty blown away, in fact, with just how well it works. There's only one thing that I find a bit flakey and that is using the trackpad to "fold up" an app to get back to the home screen - it involves physically depressing the trackpad and swiping up and it's the only thing that doesn't feel precise.

There's another, more expensive case that is very similar to this and includes a magnet that holds the iPad in place. The Typecase doesn't feature this but I'm certainly not missing it. The Typecase is a good 20 bucks cheaper and I'm just really impressed with it. I have huge hands with stubby fingers and even I can type on this keyboard - it just takes a little practice, especially when needing to hit the shift key.

This is money well spent if you want a keyboard/case combo for what is clearly the most popular iPad in 2023. There's only one thing I would change if I could and that would be a way to keep the keyboard backlight on indefinitely until I choose to turn it off.

Thanks for the great review as always. This one looks intriguing. Having an actual keyboard case, instead of a separate keyboard would be extremely convenient for using the mini with keyboard on a lap, etc. It’s a shame that the track pad is disappointing though. That’s a bummer.

On that note, can you drop a link here to the keyboard that you’re reviewing next week. That looks even more intriguing, as it seems to increase the keyboard size by ditching the trackpad.

Also you should make your Amazon links in to affiliate links if they’re not already. Just so you can get some revenue from the click throughs.
