I believe the reason the kit has separate fuses is because the fuse is tapped on the non-fused side of the vehicle fuse. If it was tapped on the fused side of the fuse, then you would be sharing a fuse and might be putting too much current through the fuse. Since the in-line fuses are connected directly to the 12V bus it is separate. An effective way to do things.

Hi Alex, What Amps are each fuse (acc, batt) on the Wolfbox hardwire kit? I need to use taps and want to make sure I use the correct amp fuses. Also, do you know what gauge the red cable that needs to be spliced to the reverse light is, I need to make it longer because it won't reach from where I mounted my camera. Once I splice the wire to a new fuse tap. Then insert the original fuse at the correct slots and the other fuse (new fuse for dash cam) goes to other slot. My question, those 2 new fuses how would I know how much amphere?

Correct me if im wrong. On ACC - 5A fuse and for BATT - 15A???

A question here because I got a same type of hardwire kit with my dashcam.
So can I direct plug in this into my existing 5A Acc fuse location?
Or if I replace the adapter, do I still need to put in a fuse on the dashcam fuse? Or just let it empty for the in line glass fuse work for it?

Which independent battery pack would you recommend for the WolfBox G900, for example I notice that Cellink Neo battery pack is hardwired to the car battery, this way the battery pack is charging while you drive the car. Then while in park the dashcam monitors the car utilizing power from the battery pack not the vehicles ( up to 24 hours) There are other’s Blackvue, Powercell, ThinkWare and Omni 20 .

Thanks for the video. The hardwire kit I got for my Wolfbox G840S doesn't appear to have the additional fuse on each the BATT and ACC line (each line just has a spade fuse) but if you take a look at the circuit diagram supplied with it, you'll see that it shows that the BATT line has an additional fuse (an inline 2A fuse) (there is no additional fuse shown for the ACC line). Odd for sure. If you remove the two fuses that are supplied, you'll see that they are both 15A fuses (one for each line, to tap into the vehicle fuse box), and you'll see that there appears to be a mini in-line (ceramic?) fuse below the 15A spade fuse for the BATT line (there's nothing below the ACC line's spade fuse)... my guess is that that the hidden mini-fuse is the 2A fuse, and that their new design puts both fuses (the 15A spade and the 2A fuse) one after another, in the blue cartridge for the spade fuse. OK, probably works just fine. Also weird is that the ACC line seems to have only a 15A fuse (again, it doesn't have a 2A fuse like the BATT line does). You'd think that with such a small wire (it's like 24AWG?), you'd have something smaller than a 15A fuse (seems a 14A current would melt the 24 gage wire in a few seconds). Any thoughts?

can i connect only the red cigarette lighter wire? at minute 2:00 is it possible to remove the fuse from its slot if it blows?

Hope it is not too late to ask for help here, you seem very knowledgeable about this.

Testing outside of the car, i find if I hook up the yellow to pos on battery, black to neg, the screen comes on.
If I just only hook up the red wire to the battery positive, black to ground, the screen does not come on.

Should this be the case?


Putting into an old bus, so the fuses are nothing like todays fuses, so will have to cut wires to change out the ends.
