Galaxy S23 Ultra vs Pixel 7 Pro: The Better Phone Is...

The S23 Ultra is Samsung's most complete, and the fastest Android phone out to date. Google's Pixel 7 Pro is the most refined and perfected Pixel phone. Which camp are you with? Are you Team Pixel? Or are you Team Galaxy?

Both phones have their pros and cons. S23 Ultra in my opinion is more complete, but the Pixel 7 Pro is more simplistic and more user-friendly. The S23 Ultra features a quad camera setup, while the Pixel 7 Pro features a triple camera setup. The S23 Ultra features the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 "For Galaxy" processor, while the Pixel 7 Pro is using the Google Tensor G2 processor. So, which one is better? And which one would you pick out of these two flagship smartphones?

I had the s23 and I sold it to buy the pixel 7 pro... Seriously the camera on the s23 ruined most indoor pictures I took of people and functions... Somehow every single picture turned out blurry n unusable unless the subject was absolutely still for a good 2 mins... Or else by the time the s23 would snap a picture, the cake was already cut, the candle blown, the subject had moved away, and only pics of the movement were captured completely smudged, blurred...

And with pixel I fail to find a single blurry image in the entire gallery... Not 1... The AI is soooo good that even if on the viewfinder the subject has moved, pixel somehow lands a pose where the picture is perfect and it's like magic, every single photo is perfect... And am not bluffing here, you buy the pixel for this magic...

You want the best specs on paper, you buy the galaxy, it's the best, perfect specs... But if you want a phone that learns your patterns and moulds itself to be truly yours, the pictures get better with every click, the battery gets better with every charge, it learns your usage patterns and it's all about AI, you buy the pixel ....

The 7 pro was the FIRST phone that ever made me CONSIDER switching from Samsung for a whole flagship cycle!! Luckily I saved and got a S23U. I've temporary had iphones for a few days but never made them my main. I'm an android guy.

I'm a Samsung Ultra fan because of the cameras. I'm a low vision person, and as such use the zoom lenses on the S23 Ultra as an accessibility device to see everyday objects. The rest of the phone is just amazing as well!

I recently picked up the pixel 7 pro after my asus rog 2 phone display broke under the screen. So far I am way more impressed with it, got it on a deal as well. I see myself using it for the next few 4 to 5 years.

S23 is overkill, the Pixel 7 Pro is perfect for the price and the features.

I went from s22u to p7pro to 23u. That's my order of preference too. Camera is still better on the pixel. Software fluency is still (only just) better on the pixel also. But.... One ui had gotten much much better and it's almost there, and had so many more features that are really useful. And in terms of quality of the hardware itself, there isn't any comparison. The galaxy is built better. The pixel screen literally flexes when you press it, drove me nuts. Battery kicks ass on the S23U too.

I had both briefly. I like the Pixel 7 Pro more for the most part. I’m primarily an iPhone user, but my android phone of choice is a pixel. I don’t like the way Samsung devices process images of human subjects.

I just traded in my Samsung S21 plus at bestbuy for pixel 7 Pro. I ended up paying $254 + tax for the pixel 7 Pro with my trade in + the discount. 300 with activation and 365 for the trade in. You can not go wrong with that price.

Having owned both types of phones I think from experience I can give a logical outlook.

For me this is what I've noticed.

1. Pixel is better at photography
2. Pixel OS is more simple
3. Pixels give you far more value for money
4. Samsung video recording is better
5. Samsungs processor capability is higher
6. Samsung battery is better
7. Pixel has better connectivity
8. Both are really good phones, but when deciding which one is better, price of the phones have to be taken into account and for me, Google phones offer more value than Samsung.

Therefore I think Pixel wins overall, due to the much lower price tag. If you want a phone that offers stronger gaming performance and doesn't overheat as much, Samsung is better. If you want a phone for photography and just social media things but also want to play games (basically if you want to have a wide range of uses) I think Pixel is better.

I have both and I prefer the pixel 7 pro, but am keeping the s23U because of battery life and the front camera (which is atrocious is less than ideal light with the pixel)

To me, i choose easily which one I'll buy.
Samsung.
Since pixel is not available in my country.
So Google, if you want to be even considered in the buying process, sell your phone in more countries.

I was torn between keeping my z fold 3 or pixel 7 pro. But then my cell provider offered a $600 extra promotion for trade in. Was able to give the iphone 6 which cost me $50 and got $605 off the s 23 ultra 512gb version. Soo definitely went for that and gave z fold 3 to a family member .. Great review you did.

I have the pixel 7 pro and it tends to overheat during video recording. So if the s23 ultra does not overheat, I’d choose it over the pixel. Plus the extra processing power, battery life, s-pen, and additional OS update are nice also.
