I would say that 99.9% of the people who claim to study scripture would never make the connection between David numbering Israel and the Pharisees testing Yahshua about tax laws. You are my brother because you love YAH and strive to know him and obey him but you are a teacher because you understand many precepts in the bible that most people do not and you are brave enough to teach on topics that most preachers consider to be too dangerous and controversial. I thank YAH for providing his Word and his Ruach to edify us but also for leading me to some of the best teachers who are able to give greater understanding of scripture and ultimately YAH's will for his people. Torah does not command to pay tax to Ceasar. That was speaking of national Israel not a wicked pagan nation in domination over Israel. Messiah was only addressing the issue whether we should a tax to the pagan nation not connecting the census half a shekel to that particular application. There is a minor connection to the two but not the way that you applied it in my opinion. The Torah does not address whether we should pay tax to a foreign nation in domination over Ithe nation of Israel.
