Stretch fabrics are either 2-way stretch or 4-way stretch. 2-way stretch fabrics stretch in one direction, usually from selvedge to selvedge (but can be in other directions depending on the knit). 4-way stretch fabrics, such as spandex, stretches in both directions, crosswise and lengthwise.

A lot of jeans company's don't seem to know what 4 way stretch is and are false advertising them as "4 way stretch" when they're really 2 way stretch.. Fitjeans has really good 4 way stretch jeans that are very comfortable but they are well over $100 for 1 pair.. I've been trying to find similar 4 way stretch jeans that are legit 4 way stretch and not falsely advertised as 4 way stretch.
