I have been struggling with tripoli. I've tried it several times and it always gets wonky. Tomorrow morning I'm going to follow your suggestion look at it the way you look at it. Like a grid, straight across and so on.❤ thank you so much.

The problem I have with doodling a zentangle is that - often - we are told that there is 'no right or wrong way to tangle' but I dispute this for two reasons. 1. Once a pattern you produce is copied by me and goes wrong at some point, I cannot carry on with it as it doesn't look right and 2. The instructions given in 'The Art of Zentangle' are geared up for right-handed people. I really wanted to learn how to zentangle as I loved to draw my own patterns when I was very young but my confidence takes a beating when I do them wrong. Does all this make any sense? I do admire your work by the way but I find trying to copy you (and others) daunting and I haven't got the imagination to make up my own patterns. However, I have learned how to draw animals so I've been utilising my artist's tiles for that, so at least they're not wasted. I hope you don't think I sound too negative, I'm just being honest.
