Glitchtrap ISN'T NEW (Technically) - FNAF Novel Fun Fact

In FNAF VR Help Wanted, FNAF AR Special Delivery, and FNAF Security Breach, we learn more about the Glitchtrap virus, which seems to be under the control of Burntrap / William Afton. However, this isn’t the first time William has used computer code to take control of other animatronics.

In fact, in The Twisted Ones, the sequel to the first Five Nights at Freddy's book, The Silver Eyes, William Afton as Springtrap was able to control other animatronics using the show protocols that linked the animatronics for the sake of choreography.

This actually works quite well with my model as I had imagined for a while Glitchtrap is a name given to 2 things, the soul of William in virtual form and a digital/mental network connecting all of the Glamrocks infected by the virus.

It's similar to the matpat theory that the reason glitchtrap tried in vain to get into glamrock freddy in the middle of the show of all times (but caused him to overload and shut down probably because of the presence of a soul) is that the virus itself is a Trojan horse inside the showtime program, activating showtime activates glitchtrap like any real world computer virus

I think the reason Glitchtrap does this, when hacking into an animatronic while they're in public on stage is a huge liability to the Afton agenda is beacuse of what exactly Glitchtrap is, He was spawned from coding on a circuit board that contained a shred of William's soul, the circuit board came from springtrap AKA Spring bonnie, and since spring bonnie is such a primitive animatronic, one of the first in the serise as a matter of fact, basically the only programing that would be in him was how to do shows, and that coding is the basis of Glitchtrap

So yeah thats why Freddy shut down on stage I believe, Glitchtrap as a computer virus is attached to the showtime sequence program beacuse glitchtrap himself at the base level is made of Springbonnies showtime program, thst might also be why glitchtrap is a more charismatic and preformitive version of afton, like when he dances over the players corpse in the freddy ending of Help Wanted, but it's hard to say whether or not that's just the way william acts he is usually exactly as egotistical and manipulative

I like this explanation so much better than "oh well the virus is there now after he BURNED ALIVE(?) because we need more games." It actually makes sense as something possibly explaining something from more than just one or two games.

I never thought of that, though that does make a lot of sense! To me you are my second matpat to make understanding the more difficult parts of fnaf even easier, as matpat is not always right!

I thought vanny/Vanessa was being controlled by Glitchtrap because your playing as her in help wanted and as you collect tapes your rebuilding Williams conscious and he controls vanny by the end of the game. That would explain why she wears a bunny suit just like William in SB. FNaF is so confusing.

It would also explain why the animatronics try to kill the Fnaf 1 guard if William already took the reminet, he was controlling them from the safe room

I have a theory about the books actually. The one you mentioned also had some guy named “Carl” or something like that. William set him up so that he could experiment, the first of many. And in Security Breach, I believe William and vanny were kidnapping kids so they could experiment on them. Gregory is the only one who worked but escaped. Why? He was trying to bring back the crying child. Putting his family together again. But even more evidence, The animatronics that jump scare you look like they are taking you somewhere, i know that’s a stretch but even more evidence is the lines they have. Chika says “your family is looking for you” which they are, William Afton and vanny who is the stand in for Elisabeth.

Sounds to me like all these animatronics need an anti-virus. Maybe they can all chip in for a family subscription to Norton!

And glamrock Freddy wasn't infected because he wasn't connected to the network at the time

This could actually explain how Phone Guy died to the FNAF 1 animatronics. Because the FNAF 1 animatronics existing after William was in the Springlocked suit (due to the FNAF 3 phone calls) it would make sense that Golden Freddy was connected to the same network. Being the only animatronic to definitely haunted, Golden Freddy could basically command the FNAF 1 animatronics.

I'm scared of how smart William Actually is, Bro went from building full functional robots (Before our modern tech) Then later figures out how souls work, Then after he dies he figures out how to make a Virus of himself to take over someones mind so his he can live on. Man was bulit different. I'm scared of Williams potential more then a robotic bear trying to stuff me in a suit. 💀
