This scene perfectly represents why being struck in the balls is so painful - there's that split-second delay just before the excruciating, throbbing pain kicks in; a briefly-painless zen which fools the man into believing he has finally achieved his dreams of becoming an invincible, Herculean figure. He is free to swing on the swing of Nirvana, if only for a second... and that being ripped from us is what makes it the greatest agony of all.
