Oh yeah! This is the crowd pleaser and the band pleaser---a win-win. Fun, funky, hip, groovy---call it what you want, this chart is excellent in every way . If you have a decent bari player, he or she will really love this one. Some features are written-out solos for alto and tenor sax, a stop-time for the saxes, a fantastic interlude section, a monster shout chorus and some short drum fills. Ok so in my band room there was a chalkboard from before the room got a whiteboard, and on it was this amazing drawing of a guy in a suit with a watermelon for a head. No one knows who drew it, because it was so long ago, even before the current band teacher. I’m pretty sure that picture was from this song, and I now feel like I’ve stumbled upon some hidden conspiracy secret right now.
Unfortunately, the school hired a new janitor this year who erased the famed piece of art. Such a tragedy. Now all that remains on the chalkboard is a crudely drawn gravestone. R.I.P. watermelon man you will be missed.
Now the only weird things in the band room is the skull next to the timpani and the 20 year old sandwich on the ceiling lights. :(

I played this for the Lional Hampton Jazz Festival in Febuary this year, and we got almost perfect scores in the 3D division (I'm in the second band). It was definitely a favorite of the class, it's so much fun! Our flute soloist was AWESOME!! I am a bari sax player and it was sooo much fun! We finally have a chance to be heard!! Like if you play bari!!

Hahahaha 😂 My dad’s little brother played this at my grandma’s cousin’s ex-wife’s funeral! 🍉🍉🍉This was such a groovy tune, it got everybody doing backflips and triple front flips! 😍 My baby loved it so much, he actually turned into Iron Man and ate a big 😮 watermelon 🍉! Hahahaha! Brings back so many good memories!🤩 The woman got revived from the dead and started to breakdance with watermelon seeds on her tongue! Ironic isn’t it? 😂😂😂 Such an amazing song to feel the funks to! Am I right? 😂
