In my experience, their quality difference is knits vs.wovens, actually, not tops vs. bottoms. Thats why the skirt was good quality, because it was made by their knitwear team / knitwear factories. I love their knitwear - amazing quality for the prices, but I bought a matching pant and top woven set from them, and the material was very thin, cheap polyester. Cute video. :)

Boy, my comment is a year too late, but maybe it will help someone. First, you really don’t know the quality until the item has been washed or dry cleaned. Second, a good hint that the quality isn’t so good is when stripes, plaids or checks aren’t matching at seams and pleats. I’ve been sewing since I could reach the machine foot pedal and it’s one of the first things I learned. Unfortunately, Cider fails the matching test.

Mia, you should do a Stitchfix or similar style box with your Mom but you order one box for yourself and then you order a box for her describing her style from your perspective and have her do the same, one for her and one for you. you should do a portion of these videos about how easy it is to return items with them. sometimes they say they have an easy return policy but actually executing it is made difficult or impossible. says a lot about a brand and you can't. know until its too late a lot of the time!
