STOP MAKING EXCUSES AND START EXPLORING | JONESIN' FOR TASTE
Just a #shorts PSA for all those who feel like traveling is the only way to learn about the world. It's an easy excuse to make and I'm here to tell you it's time to overcome your objections and get out there.
Here are some ideas to get you started:
🏙️ Start learning about the variety of cultures that live in your neighborhood, city, or state. Learn about whose land you are on.
🥙 Find a cooking class at your local community center to learn how to cook Indian food or visit a new restaurant or food truck. Visit your closest international market and pick out a few things to try.
🕌 Attend a cultural festival celebrating heritage or a holiday like Chinese New Year, Day of the Dead, or Holi. Visit a museum about Korean-American heritage or a mariachi concert in the park.
💗 Look for opportunities to support and explore. Try to understand the challenges they face and also what things are important to them. Find the things that connect you and seek to understand and find the beauty in the things that make you different.
🧑🤝🧑 Do so to make our communities a better place and to help inspire others to do the same. Because we all want to be understood and seen for who we are not the things people assume us to be.

ABOUT JONESIN FOR TASTE
I grew up wishing that I was connected more with my Hawaiian and Mexican heritage. Now as a multi-cultural family living abroad in Europe, I’m teaching my kids to be proud of their heritage and to learn more about the cultures that influence us.
We have grown so much as we have learned more about other cultures and gained confidence in our own place in the world- so can you!
