Why Pharmacists Hate GoodRx

In this video I discuss why pharmacists don't like Good Rx. Good Rx has become the dominant player in the discount card business. Pharmacists and technicians are the ones that now have to deal with GoodRx. A lot of times it makes a lot of work with little up side.

The problem isn't GoodRx. The problem is that prescription drugs are so marked up that we need it. Maybe people's health shouldn't be a source of profit.🤨

I don’t understand, why would a pharmacist care if there’s a fee to be paid to GoodRx unless Walgreens (for example) subtracts it from the pharmacists paycheck?

I’ve had to use GoodRX so that I can afford insulin for my son. The price of insulin is outrageous and keeps going up. My son is a Type 1 diabetic. So I’m really concerned. I wonder who decides the prices of medications?

I like GoodRx but the commercial where a gal is complaining about having to pay 67 bucks for 2 prescriptions. I have 12 prescriptions I need, 2 of them cost me. Close to 500.00 dollars EACH!!! She should hear me COMPLAIN !!

Having just moved back to the US from Korea (where I think I never paid more than $15 for a prescription as a foreigner with no local insurance), I was pretty surprised that my ExpressScripts insurance had me paying $74 for 20 capsules of Cefdinir. GoodRx says I can get it for $22. It's too late now to test it, but is it true?

Sounds like you’re in the wrong profession? I don’t mean that in a bad way….these types of companies plus those damned benefits management companies that the insurance companies that invented them is helping to make healthcare as a profession a living nightmare. My ex was a pharmacist and he hated it.
