The new onscreen keyboard sucks. The full size keyboard is stuck to the bottom of the screen and covers the entire bottom half of the screen and won't let me change it's size or shape or location.
The only option that lets me move it around is the small keyboard that also doesn't let me change it's size or shape. Neither of them have a number pad which is also worse than the previous version.
Would you like to explain why taking away my ability to adjust the size and shape and limiting my ability to move it is supposed to be an improvement?

This is a new thing I didn't know about. Thanks! Now if I could just prevent the keyboard from randomly popping up in OneNote whenever I move my hand (left handed writer) I would be happy.

Hi
I love the split keyboard, easy for me when on my knee.
Love the lessons. Important and useful.
Thanks

But a big absence in windows11 keyboard is the num pad. Many times it is convenient to access the numbers from a virtual num pad, with the usual numbers laid out in a 3X3 box and the 0 below rather than from the top row. We had it, and now we don't anymore.

Is there any way to further use the windows 8 virtual keyboard or something similar on a windows 11 tablet? Would really appreciate an answer.

Please help.

I am experiencing an issue on my Surface Pro 9. It's suppose to change to tablet interface when you detach the surface keyboard on landscape position. But it's not doing that. (Tablet interface is when taskbar is bigger and touchkeyboard appears whenever you need to type).

There are workarounds but It's quite annoying: (1) After detaching surface keyboard, I press the power button to sleep mode then boot again and it will only then be in tablet mode. (2) When I turn my tablet sideward, the screen will rotate then I detach the keyboard only then it works conveniently like a tablet.

What is more annoying, when you detach the surface keyboard on a landscape position, it does not seem to detect that and worse, it won't rotate screen and stays on landscape now and no touch keyboard popping up. So, I need to do the workaround (1).

I already contacted Microsoft, tried reinstalling Win11, reset settings and check updates. But to no avail.

This is frustrating. Just bought this for weeks and it's having this issue. Hope you could help.

i have an issue with windows 11 "touch keyboard" and i hope somebody can help me. i have a tablet pc with a touch screen (asus z13) and a 27" screen non touch capable monitor connected to it.
when i view my browser on my 27" monitor and press the address bar the touch keyboard jump to that screen instead of staying on the tablet. i want to use the tablet as the keyboard for both monitors.
anybody know how can i set the touch keyboard to only show on my tablet/touch screen? i tried the old on screen keyboard but it kinda sucks compered to the new touch keyboard.
Thank you all!

I tried to use the touch keyboard to chat on Messenger (Facebook) and the touch keyboard just pops up and down like crazy. It also covers a lot of the screen so I can't even see what I'm typing. Wonder what can I do to fix it, do you have any idea what might be wrong? It's a SP7.

Hey, that keyboard at the bottom right hand corner is not there on my Surface Pro 7. How do I access that icon? That would be EXTREMELY helpful. Because I can't access the touch screen keyboard unless I tap specific parts of program pages. It won't just come up when I want or need it to and since there's no icon or button I can press to bring it up, I don't know how to access on pages where I want to use it and there's no specific bar I can tap to bring up the touch keyboard.

Does anyone know how to move the keyboard around the screen on windows 11? on Windows 10 you just touched the top of the keyboard and then you could drag it, this does not seem to work on windows 11

Google Handwriting tool is much better than Windows Handwriting tool... Windows Handwriting tool does not work properly, when you type in other languages, you cannot understand handwriting properly no matter how well you write... Hindi. Like in other languages, there is still a lot of problem in writing its handwriting… once it needs to update Windows properly… along with Hindi language, there should also be an English suggestion so that sometime in between we can write English words. Can also write to. Google's handwriting tool works very well, but Windows should also work in the same way... Tab should also appear along with Enter in the typing tool or there should also be a sketch of Tab... so that on software like Excel, TAB and Can work quickly with Enter.
