Matt categorizes this product as Revolutionary (which doesn't actually happen a lot) This process can hugely affect the efficiency of your Build - We didn't know it was going to work this well!

Huge thanks to our Show sponsors USG/Tremco, Polywall, Huber, Dorken Delta, Prosoco, Marvin Windows, Rockwool & Endura for helping to make these videos possible! These are all trusted companies that Matt has worked with for years and trusts their products in the homes he builds.

Matt, if I ever have a new house built, I'm flying you out to oversee the entire build. Your desire to build ever house right from the ground up is such a pleasure to watch on YouTube.

Sean is a great guy! He gave me 30 minutes of his knowledge over the phone. Don't forget this product can be applied to HVAC ducting.

Matt, the first time I saw this used was on one of Mike Holmes videos. It was strange when I first saw it, yet it makes perfect sense. The tighter the house, the more cost efficient it is. No surprise there. Mike Holmes was the first builder that I ever saw, before you, that had a quality of work I could respect. That may not have much weight on here, but that is a compliment to you as a builder as Mike Holmes is no joke. Your the new champion of quality, keep it up! Ya, ya!

I'm a framer in Austin TX and this is a builder I would stand by. I have watched most of his videos and he is the needle in the hay stack builder. This was a great video.

I remember when the HVAC contractor I worked for was getting set up as an Aeroseal dealer back in the 90s when that was new.
We were joking around with them about how they should come up with a way to seal the whole house with it, instead of just the ducts.

They finally did it!

This product is similar to what I saw on "This Old House", but it was used to completely seal the hvac ducts.  I enjoy your vids.

This not only helped in the intended, but give us visual people a way of seeing it, thank you.
Took advantage of the free home energy audit when first moved in. House built in 1982, unfaced 3.5" fiberglass batts with fiberboard exterior sheeting and sliding aluminium windows. ACH50 is at 8. Asking my Professors where to look to find code, unable. That is 60 percent more than code. What really got me was using the information in this presentation, that is equivalent to about a 4.25' x 4.25' hole, or leaving two windows open!
Now that graduated and headed to Texas, no point.

So what is left on the subfloor at the end of the process? I feel like I have seen a lot of info on this process, and everyone emphasizes how it doesn't stick to vertical surfaces, and you need to cover horizontal surfaces you don't want coated. But the assumption is that it all lands on the subfloor and is fine. But is it like a layer of dust? I have found that the cleaner the subloor is before flooring is down, the less dust and filth you have accumulating after everything is done. The notion that what is under your flooring doesn't matter is simply not true, any more than it is for what is behind your drywall. What you can't see MATTERS.
So what gets left behind on your subfloor? A bonded thin layer of caulk? A layer of dusty material? Can that be vacuumed up? I prefer to vacuum after drywall, before the flooring goes down.

Back in the 80's I was a house plumber. Contractors were sealing houses so tight that if you turned the bathroom fan on it would suck smoke into the house through the wood stove. The lady of the home was cooking and running the exhaust fan and her 4 year old daughter couldn't open the front door without getting knocked down. It's taken 30 years for electronic controls to become effective.

seems like in even a fully furnished house one could run something like flexible tubes into particular problem areas and mask those small areas instead of filling the whole house or even a whole room with the particulate. this would save time and product.

Come back in a year and see what it is rated at. Then in 5 years and see if you need to do a 2nd application.

I love this channel Matt. It reminds me of Bob Vila and Norm Abram on This Old House. For those who remember, or not, money was no object on their show.
Bob was like "yeah, this door knob is $5000, but it will help the door operate more efficiently". Really low key like everyone has an unlimited budget.

People will definitely get sick without fresh air getting into the house.

I watched it being done on a home in Rochester, MN. Amazing !!! Dropped to 0.7 ACH with no insulation or drywall in house.

I'd wager a hefty sum that FEMA will be taking note of this. Imagine being able to completely seal a quarantined or safe area in a relatively short time. this could also be used for sealing clean rooms for making CCD components or field expedient surgical facilities in disaster areas or combat zones. IT could in theory turn a tube tent into an airtight facility that could more readily handle airborne pathogens with proper air filtration. Brilliant!
