When I took my Journey 25K with a tick in the engine, the dealer replaced a lifter. 3 weeks later started to tick again. The service advisor said:"If it is the same part we replaced, the warranty will cover it. Otherwise, will be approximately $2800". I walked away. I dismanteled that sucker in my garage. New lifters and rockers later, I trade that garbage for a Toyota RAV4. NEVER AGAIN A DODGE!

Their stealership service departments are terrible as well. Took in my Jeep with a bad wheel bearing, descibed it as a "roaring noise increasing with speed, but quieter when turning left" they unplugged my brake switch which kept the brake light on, claimed there was a problem with the brakes but they could fix it for $1500.. I plugged the switch back in and bought a wheel hub from AutoZone, fixed for under $100. Took my Rebel to a different dealer with a bad oil cooler, charged a $250 diagnostic fee to tell me they wanted to throw over $5k parts and labor at it with no root cause identified. I fixed it myself for under $300.

That Hornet thing isn’t worth anywhere near 50k. That’s a starter car for college kids. Should be 16k with a radio.

I’ve worked for CDJR for the past 11 years. Crazy how much the quality has gone down and prices have gone up.

In the Boise, Idaho area, I know of a long term salesman, with a great reputation of customer service, that quit the dealership after decades of employment. He just could not bear hearing all the complaints from his loyal customers that were having mechanical problems and very poor warranty service.

This CEO could care less… He’ll be very happy with his $ 30, 000, 000 bonus/ severance.

Even Mercedes and BMW is now garbage, this is what they teach in business school… cut your cost and keep cutting your cost and then cut it some more and charge more for that piece of crap that you just made or else you’re gonna get fired

I ended up having issues with the Jeep dealership in Springfield missouri. The work was not done under warranty, it was paid for. The part failed under their warranty period so the vehicle went back in to the shop. The vehicle sat over the weekend and got to call Monday morning saying that there was no antifreeze leak. I told the mechanic to pull it back up on the lift and to grab the supervisor. By the time the jeep was up in the air I asked him what was that dripping from the front of the motor. They said the leak was coming from somewhere else and not their water pump so I took it to another shop that verified that it was the water pump and replaced it. I took the work order back to the Jeep dealership. They paid very reluctantly paid me for the work done.

The paint bubbling on the hinges wont be fixed with new paint. Took the Jeep down to the local dealership close to me and was told right away by the body tech (smart guy) that the issue is not in the paint.. its the metal under the paint. For the longest time they were repairing the bubbles and raised paint by repainting them, just to have the problem come back. He said that it had to do with the way the metal was treated on certain runs of Jeeps and the whole panel has to be replaced. Problem is.. now there was a wait list for everyone to get their doors replaced with supply chain issues, so I had to wait about a year to get my doors. Luckily when they did get them the dealership had it finished within a week with new panels and new paint. Soooo yeah, if you fall within this group who has the issue, dont think that new paint will fix it.

If Stellantis wants to keep selling vehicles, they'll drop MSRP by 50%+ on all models, fix the manufacturing issues and crappy parts, and train their technicians to do better work.

That company is absolutely terrible.

I feel better now having paid $50k for my 21' 4Runner.
And I have to remind myself to wash and polish my fully paid 14' FJ Cruiser.
I offer my condolences to any future Dodge owners.

Not resigned... FIRED! That's what happens when you run a multi-billion dollar company into the ground in a matter of a couple of years. Board of directors straight canned his ass!

Car manufacturers are screwing techs so bad on warranty times and there's such a shortage of qualified techs in the first place this story is at a lot of dealers. If people think they are going to drop in any dealer and find good customer service in a reasonable amount of time they are in for a surprise. Most dealer turnover rates are pretty high epically among the hardworking and talented employees.

There’s actually a TSB for the wrangler hinge corrosion issue.

The corrosion is caused by a steel hinge on an aluminum door. Dissimilar metals.

The TSB is installing a zinc plate that you can get from the dealership, between the hinge and door.
