Aoshima Ancient Greek Warship Full Review and Build

Back to modelling with my build of this lovely little Ancient Greek Warship. About 1:250 scale as far as anyone can work out. It's a very cool little penteconter, 50 men warship, on which I tried out some new weathering, rigging and detailing techniques.

What a sweet little model! Very wise words about having fun and I loved the rivet counter bashing bit.

Amazing boat building skills those chaps had all those years ago.

Oh Harry, we won't mention what's her face again. So sorry mate. Lucky you had the prenup, you won't have to sell off the stash! That little kit came up a beaut. I like your trick with the tape to get the straight lines. Washing the sails turned out a treat too. Keep the great builds coming.

Great way to start the Friday....weekend I mean, finish the graveyard shift, get home and low and behold....a new Harry Po....Harry Belafo....Harry Houdini flick, happy days!
I need to invest in some ship I think, lately I've flashed my plastic for some 1/32 WWI fighters from Roden....

That's looks pretty cool, I like the way you painted up the sails! What music is that at the end? It reminds me of an instrumental track from some Scandinavian ambient /black/folk metal band, and its bugging me I can't remember! 😂

Like your Junk, it's an old Imai kit. You might also like their 1/350th scale modern sail training ships.

very nice model there harry, i love ancient war ships :)
i am not too familiar with the greek ship types, i know more about the roman ships. they also use numbers to distinguish the types, but of course roman numbers for the most part.
fact is, no one really is certain what these names mean, so no one can rivet count you on that haha :)

Good little ship. Thouse LifeColor pigments... Looks like many modellers didnt have problems with them (you too). Maybe my are broken, but after application they became dead solid and I cant remove them not with water, not with special remover...

I just can't help but keep from laughing at the whole ball and chain comments! Love your build. I have the same kit but it was produced by Imai. I was wondering why did you choose the black paint scheme? I like this kit much more than the similar Heller Greek Bireme model of the similar scale.

Harry... Please don't say its over, man that sucks I'm sorry. Now tell the truth... You don't have that many kits, its a green screen behind you. LOL J/K Its fun to have a collection of kits. I have a collection myself. Ok I got one unbuilt model, but I guess ill start the sooner or later. I still have to cool down. I have a rage disorder and blew up and destroyed all the models in my room, 17 of them... DAMN IM A DUMBASS. The warship came out amazing, to get that much detail on such a small model is fantastic. Love your new model station, its nice to be able to stretch out a bit and not be so crammed into a small area.
Keep it up Harry.. I mean the modeling. LOL Stay safe and have fun. I need some cookies and milk.

Well, I am comfortably retired at 38. I sit at home building models, play a little golf, go shoot guns, do the occasional naked lady photoshoot...so yeah...I guess I do need some source of manufactured stress from time to time. Personally. Otherwise, completely agree.

Thanks for the shoutout! All the best.
