The lightbulb is a good, and old idea. Professional speakers often have them. The way that works, is that as power increases, the filiment heats up and glows. As that metal filiment heats, it does what metal does, and increases resistance. This absorbs some of the power, lessening the power to the tweeter, in a smooth and soft way, which is perfect when you're getting to the limits the tweeter coil can handle.
But, I question the capacitor. All speakers including this one use capacitors to block lower frequencies to the tweeter which is good, and needed. The XLS-215 crossover points are 280 hz and 2.4 khz. That 2.4 khz is on the low side for that tweeter, and that's the main reason so many people blow them.
Adding the capacitor your speaker company did, will now block even more low frequencies, saving the tweeter. But "adding on" the new capacitor, as opposed to reworking the main crossover, causes an issue.
The midrange, it is getting and playing the range of frequencies between 280 hz and 2.4 khz. If the new add on capacitor is blocking all the frequencies say below 5 khz (which the tweeter itself will love) the problem is that now NOTHING is playing the frequencies between 2.4 khz and 5 khz. This leaves a big hole in the overall speaker response.
So any vocals, music, notes between 2.4k and 5k won't be there, except whatever the mid plays within it's natural rollof or the db per octave rollof of the crossover design.
Ideally, the best fix is to modify the main crossover, and push the transition from the mid to the tweet up. Adding that capacitor, I'm not so sure on that one. And, I noticed, that the lightbulb never lit, even when you had the amp to clipping. It should have begun to glow. The power it takes to glow the bulb, and therefore the amount of power the bulb is reducing to the tweeter, needs to be calibrated. Not all bulbs are the same, or even close. The SK3 bulbs available everywhere, are made for that exact purpose. Those kinda look like car bulbs. They might be just fine, I have no idea. But all things considered, I think the replacement diaphragms available on ebay for those tweeters are a lot less money, have the correct sk3 bulbs included with them, and won't cause frequency response issues.

The new tweeter magnet looks bigger because it has a bucking magnet so technically it’s smaller than the old one

Kinda looks like the tweeter from XLS-6 and XLS-6C. If that's the case the bigger magnet is just the magnetic shielding.

What was the magnet is twice as thick because it's a shielded magnet. This does not add to any sort of power handling or power handling increase in the new Twitter diaphragm. It just has a cancelled bucking bell around it. Yeah these speakers notorious for blowing tweeters. Next time just get the diaphragm not the whole tweeter. It's unnecessary for you to have a video shielded motor.

All you guys are blowing these up because you're using shitty and cheap class D power. But an old NAD or Carver amp and you'll stop destroying these speakers. And turn it down too. I'm sure your audio sounds stressed.
