This is what allows great hitters to feel like they're waiting on the fastball, while still being able to adjust on off-speed pitches. For more, click on the link below:

I’m sick of people talking trash about Teacherman. It’s MORE THAN OBVIOUS he’s correct and knows what he is talking about, however people will not admit it.

Teacherman is the real deal. The concepts he teaches are tried and true balanced hitting techniques. You can hit for power AND average with these concepts.

TBH, I'm not 100% sold on Teacherman-style swing, but its fundementals are basically so correct that I learn a lot from them.

Ready at release and making bat stay in the zone being two ery obvious, yet easy to miss things.

Ideally the swing is one continuous motion, where the whole kinetic chain is in sync with the pitchers motion and the time the ball travels to the point of contact. But, with pitches having different speeds, once released by the pitcher, the moment of initiating the swing from launching has to vary.
As the fastball is the pitch that takes the least amount of time to get to the plate, it determines the earliest moment you need to be in a position to hit (footplant and hands in launching position). This translates into different amounts of time between footplant and swinglaunch, for pitches of different speeds (and locations). This time difference needs to first be recognized through vision (eyes/brain) and translated (brain) into the correct moment of swinglaunch and the correct swingpath.

Having said all this, Teacherman, as many other hitting guru's, has his own way and wording for explaining how to be ready to hit, but he is actually not telling anything new. Furthermore I'm always somewhat dissapointed if the 'proof' is given by cherrypicking footage of MLB players. In the end, what makes star MLB players so succesfull is the extreme reaction times, motorskills and hand/eye coordination these guys possess, by nature.

Let them talk, teacherman obviously knows what he is talking about. He coached the only player to legitimately break the homerun record.Thats all that needs to be said as his work speaks for itself, people talking negative on him are just haters and they are always going to hate no matter who it is

Thank you so much teacher man you have just unlocked the one hump I was having in my swing. I was not ready at release When they released I started my Ferris wheel motion and was always getting jammed I can't wait to get to the tee

Why people acting like readying up before the pitch is a new concept?

i think he may be getting the idea that you have to be fully loaded with your hands back as the ball is released. i didn’t get it at first but it’s quite simple once i see it in live at bats. you can start your swing whenever you want, you just have to have your foot down and start to get your hips moving after your foot is down

Some players do and don’t. I think to hit for power you have to be ready at release. Look at jean segura. Career 280 hitter but not much pop really. He loads hands almost as the ball is 3/4 there. I don’t like it but it obviously works for him.
