Bought 521 from T-Mobile when it first came out. I still use it as my main work phone mainly for calls, texting and email.
It is simple, fast and easy to use. It gets banged around and survived desert heat and freezing cold temps without problems.
I also own a Samsung Android 6.0 which I use on special occasions.

I was playing around with the 520 for a day to clean and restore it to factory defaults. The screen, buttons and touch feel surprisingly nice. The UI is not that bad! Too bad you can't do a lot with it.
Even $20 Android phones run at least 4.4 Kitkat which gives a lot more app compatibility and flexibility.

Still use a 521 as my work phone in 2018. The phone is pretty good if you ask me for the specs it has. I also have a Lumia 1020 and a Lumia 950 XL that I switch between as my personal phone...
