1950's Pincurl Prom Princess Easy Vintage Hairstyle - Fitfully Vintage

It doesn't take much to give you a really nice vintage look to your hair, which then in turn can give a vintage style to your whole outfit. A couple of pin-curls here and there really are MAGIC!

I use Lottabody setting lotion btw, I used to use Wella but it is RUBBISH in comparison!

Hair isn't the most important thing in the world but, sometimes knowing you have a super cool 'do' can make you smile and that can only be a good thing right?

Welcome to Vintagious, here, in my own litttle corner of Youtube I will show you how to create beautiful hairstyles from all eras. Sure, my main focus is on simple vintage hairstyling but I also love easy modern styles.

I don't have a favourite era, it changes all the time. One day it'll be Edwardian hairstyles that I'm all over, the next, pinup girl hair, the next I'll be all about Greek Goddesses and their crazy Barnets! I just love it all!

Love the vintage look. I want to be all 1950s for my 8th grade graduation. My hair is super long and so are my bangs so it's really hard. Found curling helps a lot for long hair. I use a curling iron (turned off) just to get it rolled up then I play with it. Any tips for long haired girls?

I notice that you use your pins with the wavy side facing outward. They were actually designed to be used the other way around, with the flat side facing outward. I don't want to get too much into the physics here, but just quickly, the wavy side has more grip, so that is the side you want to use where you need more strength, that is, to anchor the hair section. There are two parts to a pinned section: the part you pin and the part closer to the scalp that you want to pin it to. Since the part near the scalp is sort of the foundation of the pinned section, that's where you want the stronger hold, which is where the wavy side of the pin goes. Since the flat side of the pin is constantly pulled towards the wavy side through a spring action, the flat side's holding strength is sufficient to hold the pinned section against the anchoring point. This results in a stronger hold against your head, which means you need less pins, and this in turn makes it easier to hide those pins.

So cute!. I recently bought a batch of large sponge rollers from ebay... super poor quality and the snap hardly meets. Sneeze and they all pop open so flimsy. Think i'll head to superdrug or boots to see if they have any x
