Just a couple of consumer-model Panasonic HDC-TM-700 cams and two Roland Edirol field recording units. Very lo-fi. We did two takes of the song, material from both was used in the final cut. One of my fave projects ever! Thanks for watching and commenting. Chris

If those people sitting around there only knew what was going to transpire 6 Grammys later for kacey.... pretty incredible

2 guitars, 2 voices, and a fiddle. That's all you need to make magic.

Nothing like Texas Country music. We are so lucky to have REAL artists like Josh Abbott, Kyle Park, Randy Rogers, Wade Bowen and other just like them!

Now almost 8 years later, Kacey’s nominated for Album of the Year at the Grammys. I’m so proud.

I'm about a dozen years late, bit I'll throw my hat in the ring of people who traditionally can't stand these kinds of recordings, but totally dig this one... good job kicking ass a dozen years ago. Some things are timeless; this happens to be one of those things.

Now that's a lunchtime treat! The kids Running around and then stopping to listen make it special.

Wow!! Just kind of stumbled into this one. Fantastic. Love the spontaneity and off the cuff nature of this performance. Those lucky folks that were there can now tell all their friends that they saw a two time Grammy winner up close and personal. Too cool for school !!!

I've been in the Army for four years now, and it's these kinds of videos that bring me back home. I miss the Hill Country and everything that goes with it, one more year and I get to go back to simple living, where the people may not know you, but they'll respect you, and the ones that know you, treat you like you're family...

Say what you will about Josh Abbott, but that's pure talent from him and Kacey and an awesomely raw performance. My timing may be off, but I think this was before anyone knew who Josh Abbot was... certainly no one at Freddie's.

I love the little kids at 2:30 standing right at the table edge.  Front row seats to an impromptu performance.  I cant say that I'm a huge fan of Josh Abbott but I do like this done acoustically. Would have been a cool thing to see live.

This is the first time I’ve ever commented on a YouTube video in like a decade of having YouTube. This was absolutely beautiful. Wish I was there to see it
