The Milky Way galaxy is so big that even if you travel at the speed of light, which is a staggering 300,000 km/s, it would still take you 100,000 years to go from one end to the other. Amidst this vast expanse, our galaxy is home to an estimated 100-400 billion stars and countless planets, including our own Earth. Yet, despite its mind-boggling size, the Milky Way is a mere speck in the cosmos, as there are around 2 trillion galaxies in the observable universe! At the center of our galaxy lies a supermassive black hole that weighs about 4 million times the mass of our Sun! The Earth completes one orbit around the galactic center every 230 million years. This means that the last time the Earth was on this side of the galaxy, dinosaurs were beginning to walk the planet.

It also boggles my mind that so many people continue their violent ways knowing that just right outside the tenuous atmosphere is death. You'd think we'd want to get along with each other and live as long as we can harmoniously instead of blowing each other away. Because we're not going to get a second shot. There's only one shot at life and we're doing a great job at making it miserable living on this planet. I pity this species that I'm a part of because we're coming up on the finish line.
